Brighton dog boarding Franchisee Emily Deacon with her dog Barkley

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too.

Brighton dog boarding. Emily Deacon with her dog BarkleyMy family had dogs when I was growing up and I loved the friendship and fun they gave me as a child. When I had a family of my own they were desperate for a dog. For years we couldn’t agree to one as my husband and I both worked full time but due to a career change we were able to have our first dog, Jake. After losing him we weren’t sure we wanted another one and I increased my hours of work but we soon realised that we all missed having a dog around so I looked into ways of working that would offer me the flexibility to have a dog and also be there for my youngest son after school.

I was over the moon when I found Wagging Tails (and particularly when the BN postcode area was available!) as our priority is always the dogs’ happiness. Wagging Tails has offered me a fantastic opportunity and the flexibility I need and, just as importantly, provides a much needed service for local dog owners, who are able to go away on holiday or business and have peace of mind that their dogs are being well cared for in a real ‘home from home’ environment.

We have now welcomed another dog into our family – Barkley (although my daughter prefers to call her Sparkly!), a West Highland Terrier puppy who is a little bundle of fun. I am so happy that I can work alongside Barkley meeting lots of lovely dogs and their owners in the local area. I am proud to be part of Wagging Tails and am really looking forward to building a team of dedicated Carers and providing an unmatched service to dog owners in the Brighton, Hove & Sussex area.

About Our Brighton & Hove Dog Carers

All our Carers are experienced past dog owners who sadly no longer have dogs of their own or have one dog who enjoys the company of visiting dogs. Coming from various walks of life and experienced with different breeds of dogs they have all been vetted, interviewed and assessed to provide home dog boarding to owners in Sussex and I would happily board Barkley with each of them. Where required our Carers are licensed by their local Council to comply with the Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963 and are fully insured through Wagging Tails Pet Business Insurance. I match each owner's dogs with the most suitable Carer and insist on a 'sniffing out meeting' taking place at the carers home before the board. I believe it is very important for owners to meet the chosen Carer to gain peace of mind and feel confident their best friend will have a great dog holiday! I always aim to place dogs back with the same carer for subsequent holidays as the dogs and Carers build a strong bond. Many owners have told me their dogs have dragged them to the Carer's door knowing exactly where they are and that it's holiday time!

Our Reputation

We are very proud to be recommended by many Vets, Dog Trainers, Groomers and Owners (as can be seen on our Testimonials page).

Our calibre of carers and dedication to giving owner's dogs a stress free alternative to kennels makes Wagging Tails the ideal holiday home for all dogs including rescue dogs, puppies and elderly dogs.

Our Aim

Our Aim is to ensure that owners can go away safe in the knowledge that their dogs are being loved and cared for and for all dogs boarding with Wagging Tails carers to get a holiday of their own, full of love, exercise and those all important cuddles!
