Tuesday, May 9, 2017

Wagging Tails were recently welcomed to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People Headquarters at The Grange in Buckinghamshire to celebrate their 10th and Hearing Dogs' 35th Birthdays. Since they began working with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People in January 2014 Wagging Tails have now helped to raise over £10,000 for the charity.

Wagging Tails Directors Lisa and Jim Suswain with President of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Sir Stuart HampsonThe celebrations saw Wagging Tails present a cheque for £10,000 to Sir Stuart Hampson, President of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, before the cutting of the birthday cake and a toast celebrating 10 years of Wagging Tails and 35 years of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

Speaking on behalf of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People Nicholas Orpin, Community Fundraising Manager for the South East, stated,

"Wagging Tails is such a great company and their customers get a unique and fantastic service. But they don't just stop there, they also help to change lives of deaf people by supporting Hearing Dogs, and that tells you what great people they are too".

Wagging Tails help raise funds in a number of ways with owners invited to make a small donation to the charity when booking their dogs' holidays, a Wagging Tails charity Calendar is produced each year to raise money and a fantastic "Take the Plunge" event was put on by Wiltshire Franchisee Hilary Coates in 2015 which raised over £2,500 for Hearing Dogs. "Take the Plunge 2" is scheduled to take place in September 2017 and promises to be even bigger and better than the previous event.

Wagging Tails were guests at Hearing Dogs Headquarters to celebrate 10 years of dog boarding and 35 years of the charity

Speaking of the decision to work with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People Lisa said,

"The people at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People have been so good to work with, they really are prepared to go the extra mile, and this has led to our decision to make this a longer term partnership. This really is a wonderful charity that makes a real difference in the lives of deaf people and those with partial hearing loss. Our owners clearly empathise with this and we would like to thank them for their generous donations. We are proud of what we have achieved so far on behalf of Hearing Dogs and aim to add significantly to the £10,000 we have already helped raise for the charity."

Take the Plunge 2 will take place on Saturday 9th September 2017 at South Cerney Outdoor Education Centre, Gloucestershire in partnership with the registered charity Newfound Friends and in support of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
