We have had dogs in our family since I was very young and I currently have two dogs - Scooby who is a Golden Retriever and Tyler, a black Labrador. We live on the edge of the Ridgeway which is part of the National Trail running through the Chilterns and is an outstanding area of natural beauty. I love to go on long walks with them and my husband, and we are always exploring new walks in and around Oxfordshire.
As a dog owner I appreciate the dilemma in finding the right place to leave my boys when we go away, and I have never felt that kennels were right for them. It was during my search for the best holiday home for them that I fell into the most perfect job launching the Oxfordshire branch of Wagging Tails. I have to say that I have never worked in such an enjoyable and satisfying role.
My aim is to help dog owners in Oxfordshire find the perfect holiday for their best friends so that they can fully relax whilst they are on holiday or away with work.
It is important to me to build a strong rapport with my Carers who know I am always on hand should they need any assistance. This in turn gives the owners additional reassurance that the best possible care is being given to their dogs.
I am trained in Canine First Aid and have successfully completed the Animal Aiders Dog First Aid Training Course.
I hold a Diploma from The Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour having undertaken and passed their 'Understanding What Makes Dogs Tick' course.
I hold a license from The White Horse District Council to board dogs at our home in Wantage, Oxfordshire.
I am also fully insured with Third Party Liability Insurance from Pet Business Insurance.
All our Carers are experienced past dog owners who sadly no longer have dogs of their own. Coming from various walks of life and experienced with different breeds of dogs they have all been vetted, interviewed and assessed and we would happily board Scooby and Tyler with each of them. Where necessary our Carers are licensed by their local Council to comply with the Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963 and are fully insured through Wagging Tails Pet Business Insurance. I match each owner's dogs with the most suitable carers and insist on a 'sniffing out meeting' taking place at the Carers home before the board. I believe it is very important for owners to meet the chosen carer to gain peace of mind and feel confident their best friend will have a great holiday! I always aim to place dogs back with the same carer for subsequent holidays as the dogs and Carers build a strong bond. Many owners have told me their dogs have dragged them to the Carers door knowing exactly where they are and that it's holiday time!
We are very proud to be recommended by many Vets, Dog Trainers, Groomers and Owners (as can be seen on our Testimonials page).
Our calibre of Carers and dedication to giving owner's dogs a stress free alternative to kennels makes Wagging Tails the ideal holiday home for all dogs including rescue dogs, puppies and elderly dogs.
Our Aim is to ensure that owners can go away safe in the knowledge that their dogs are being loved and cared for and for all dogs boarding with Wagging Tails Carers to get a holiday of their own, full of love, exercise and those all important cuddles!
